The South American Bird Fair is the most important of its kind on the continent, and is held every year in a different country. The Fair is a meeting with many dimensions that includes birding (in various ecosystems depending on the host country), workshops with specialists from around the world, stands (with optics, equipment, books and guides, NGOs, art, etc.), talks, forums and symposiums, and many exchange and growth activities in this activity that is growing throughout the continent.

Ecuador — Land of Birds, headquarters of the XII South American Bird Fair 2023

Mindo, the feathered valley
Located just 2 hours from Quito, the Mindo Valley has been positioned for more than 20 years as one of the most important regional Birdwatching sector. The first IBA in South America, an example of sustainable development, winner of multiple international bird counting events, cradle of national bird tourism, the small charming town of Mindo positioned itself as one of the most emblematic green destinations on the continent. Located in the heart of the Choco Andino Biosphere Reserve, it is the starting point for a region where birds abound. No less than 680 bird species have been recorded throughout the area.
